Ireland buyer's notes

Choosing an AI receptionist in Ireland

Three things to check with any provider before you sign up.

Data protection: GDPR and the DPC

An AI receptionist records or transcribes calls and handles callers' details for you, which under GDPR usually makes the provider your data processor. Ask each provider for its data processing agreement (DPA), where recordings and transcripts are stored and how long they're kept, and tell callers if calls are recorded. The Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) publishes guidance for businesses.

Irish phone numbers

Check whether you get a local geographic number (such as 01 for Dublin) or a freephone 1800 number. To keep your existing number, ask whether the provider can port it in, and out again if you leave. Number porting is regulated by ComReg.

Prices and VAT

Every Irish price here is in euro (EUR), copied from the provider's own pricing page. Of the 8 providers listed, 2 say prices exclude VAT, and 6 don't say. Where a provider doesn't say, we show the VAT basis as Unknown.

Copied from the source

Every price, allowance and trial is copied from the provider's own pricing page, with the date we checked it.

Unknown means unknown

If a provider doesn't publish a figure, we say so. We never estimate a provider's price or award stars.

Payment never changes facts

Listings are free. Paid Verified and Featured placements are always labelled, and never change the prices we show.

Independent and transparent. Listings are free and ordered alphabetically by default. Providers can pay for a verified badge or a clearly labelled Featured spot; payment never changes the prices or facts we show. How we make money.
