Three things to check with any provider before you sign up.
Privacy
AI receptionists record or transcribe calls and store callers' details. Ask each provider where recordings and transcripts are stored and how long they're kept, and tell callers if calls are recorded. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz) publishes guidance on the Privacy Act 2020.
New Zealand phone numbers
Check whether you get a local number or an 0800 freephone number. To keep your existing number, ask whether the provider can port it in, and out again if you leave.
Prices and GST
Every New Zealand price here is in New Zealand dollars (NZD), copied from the provider's own pricing page. Of the 10 providers listed, 5 say prices exclude GST, 1 says prices include it and 4 don't say, shown as Unknown.
